Over the next few months, we are updating your Portal’s home screen and settings. Some steps will be different if your Portal has the new home screen.

To secure your Portal, you can set up passcodes for your account and device.

  5. Confirm your login.
  6. Enter your 4-digit passcode.
  7. Re-enter your 4-digit passcode.

  6. Re-enter your new 4-digit passcode.
Note: Account passcodes can not be used to replace your WhatsApp login.

Screen Lock Passcode

You can use this passcode to keep your Portal screen locked when it's not in use. This passcode will be required to return to Home after your Portal is not in use, but you can still use voice commands to make and receive calls.

While your Portal is locked, you won't be able to add additional contacts to a call.

To set your Portal passcode:

  1. From Apps, tap Settings .
  2. Tap the Privacy tab and then tap Screen Lock. (If prompted, select who's making changes and log in with your Facebook account.)
  3. Enter the 4-12 digit passcode for your device and tap the Checkmark.
  4. Re-enter your 4-12 digit passcode and tap the Checkmark to confirm your passcode.

To change your Portal passcode:

  1. From Apps, tap Settings .
  2. Tap the Privacy tab and then tap Change Passcode.
  3. Select who's making changes and log in with your Facebook account.
  4. Enter your old passcode and tap the Checkmark.
  5. Enter your new passcode, reenter the new passcode, and then tap the Checkmark to confirm your new passcode.
